Cheerful Delhi Wedding of Gora Munda & Desi Kudi with an Interesting Love Story

FEATURED – SHAADISAGA

We love everything about weddings! Be it their profound beauty, the zesty ceremonies, the fashion galore they swoon us with or the fact that they unite two people and their families in a blissful bond. But that’s definitely not all! Another reason we cherish weddings is that they play cupid for so many prospect lovebirds. Thomas & Akanksha, the couple whose wedding we present here in this blog too met at someone else’s big day. Thomas was a groomsman at a friend’s wedding and Akanksha attended the wedding as a bridesmaid. Introduced by a mutual friend, the two instantly hit off well. Cut to three years later, Akanksha and Thomas flew to India to get hitched in a boisterous and beautiful Indian wedding.

Their wedding, held at the Taj City Centre, Gurugram was a beautiful union of two cultures. Our trusted vendors Shanqh Luxury Event Planners and Decorators brilliantly pulled off the wedding and added oodles of aesthetics with their creative finesse and exquisite decor. The team of Shutter Down Photography perfectly lensed every bit of the wedding. Bundled with a lot of decor ideas, outfit inspiration and gleeful photographs, you’re sure to enjoy this wedding.

Wedding Ceremonies of Akanksha & Thomas

A flamboyant mehendi with fun decor

Akanksha and Thomas opted for a true Indian-style mehendi ceremony to start off their festivities. Wearing a pastel pink glimmering lehenga, Akanksha got her hands laden with mehendi under a gorgeous colourful tent setup that was further amped with pom-poms and tassels. MUA Aakriti Kochar gave her a soft and supple look for the morning mehendi ceremony. Further, the Shanqh Luxury Events brought the garden area of the venue to life with an exciting decor arrangement. Right from the drapes, canopy setup, floral centrepieces, gota cushions to the signages and seating arrangement – everything was a delightful riot of colour that made the venue ‘mehendi ready’.

The bride even gave a smashing solo performance on an abstractly printed dance floor. The Videsi-turned-Desi family of Thomas enjoyed the ceremony to the core and got their hands etched with mehendi too. Oh, and did we mention that Thomas looked all dapper in a classy suit and got his bride’s nickname (Shruti) imprinted on his hands too?

Fun Cocktail Party

A night full of dance, drinks and glamour followed the mehendi ceremony. Akanksha picked a comfortable Achkan-style heavily embroidered suit set for the cocktail party that lent her comfort to dance the night away. Whereas, Thomas looked stylish in a classic black suit. The venue bedazzled with gazillions of fairy lights, lanterns and shimmery cascading strings.

The pictursque Wedding

The couple solemnized their love in a big fat Indian wedding where Thomas entered riding atop a horse with ‘Band Baaja Baraat‘ to marry his lady love. Being a true traditional at heart, Akanksha stunned a traditional Red Sabyasachi lehenga and paired it with the prettiest gold jewels. Donning a traditional beige and red sherwani with a matching safa and stall, Thomas made our hearts flutter with his ‘Desi Dulha‘ look. The decor of the wedding boasted of an encapsulating floral galore. Be it the stage setup, table centrepieces, or ceilings and mandap, all of it was replete with fresh flowers that made the wedding so picturesque.
